Strange Meetings, Entwined Destinies

Strangers in a virtual universe
Calling out to the capricious unknown,
Knowing not what they seek,
Seeking not what they see,
Seeing but what lies beyond.
Their passion-
Reason that neither men
Nor emotions know naught of.

Darkness enshrouds
Every conceivable glow,
And the dissonance
Of voices drop
To a hushed monotone;
The pale moonlight
Casts a ghostly tune
On the barren branches,
Creating the tiny notes
Of an enchanting melody.
The musical that
Neither bonds in symphony,
Nor shatters in discord;
Slowly fades out
The cacophony.
Faint...
With the ardour
Of a million
Words unuttered,
Melodies yet unheard of.

The battle
Between
A past,
That haunts
With tenderness;
A future,
That yearns
For survival, and
An eternity
That stands
Frozen.

The sweet union
Of intangible visions,
Dancing breathlessly
In the silver shadows;
One startling flash
Of a dream,
One endless moment
Frozen forever in time,
Two changed destinies.

You and I...
We were but
Strangers in the night.
