Flight of Leaves

It rose,
And fell…
A non-descript
Pathway,
In a jade yellow
Nomadic land.

Twisted
To a state
Of almost distortion;
Winding
Around meads,
And hills,
Luscious
Mango groves,
And brown skinned
Maidens
With curled pigtails.

The scents
Of summer-
Of ripe guavas,
And sheared grass,
Wet earth,
And gold flecked apples.

Bewitched
He stood,
On a lone
Green high way;
The remains
Of a once shiny car,
Softening his
Every thought.

He saw
Powder coat
In every hue,
Graffiti
To mar time;
Crutches to
Keep him company,
And cigar
To bellow on
In spite.

Inspite of
Mellow madness,
And red wine
To hasten dark,
The night but fell
Slowly,
Eating into
Pristine skies.

She came-
Brown skin
And shiny
Black curls;
Moonlight resting on
Her eyes,
And star dust
In her touch.

For long hours
They hushed in
Silent tunes,
And melodies
Of another world.
Fervent promises
To passion,
And dreams
Of eternal life.

One night
Of fervent love,
And blades
Of withered grass.
Stars played mute
To the lie,
A night
She knew
That was never a life.

He went,
In search
Of other lives,
Crystal water
And glaciers.

Bound he was
Sky high.
